Admission

With the ever-increasing demand for the limited places available, admission to Adisadel College is very competitive. Only half of those who apply are admitted. Admission is solely based on merit.

Adisadel College Admission Process

Every year, new pupils are admitted through a computerized system under the control of the Ghana Education Service. The system works based on the results of an entry examination known as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E.). This examination is held for junior high schools at various centers throughout the country. Applicants from junior secondary school must obtain at least grade one in six subjects of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) offered by the West African Examination Council. Entry forms for the above examination are obtained from the West African Examination Council (W.A.E.C.) through the headmasters of the respective junior high schools within the country. Once the computerized selection process is complete, the list of admitted students is made available by the Ghana Education Service to the school. The list is then made public through the school’s notice board. An opportunity is also given to foreign nationals who wish to apply for admission into the school through a written entrance examination organized by the school. Foreign applicants must present credentials equivalent to the Ghanaian BECE. There are, however, very limited places for applicants abroad. Wards of alumni applying from abroad are advised to take the Basic Education Certificate Examination. Students from other senior high schools or freshmen senior high school starters who wish to continue their education at the school can also contact the school’s administration through the contact list provided in the contact section of this page. Most enrolling first-year students are 14 years of age. There is no age requirement. After a student gains admission, he is given the school’s official prospectus. This book helps new students learn about the school and all that is required of them.
